About the event
Elena and Igor are brother and sister, born in Russia. Elena and Igor began drawing in early childhood. They both consider their father, a professor at the University of Architecture, their main teacher. He instilled in them a love of painting and also taught them Slavic and Gothic calligraphy.
Elena graduated from the Moscow University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. She later defended her dissertation in ceramics at the same university. Elena was born in Russia near the Chinese border and spent her childhood there, so it's no surprise that she developed an interest in Eastern painting and began painting in the Chinese xie-yi style and the Japanese sumi-e style. Elena has studied with renowned masters from China, Russia, and the Netherlands. She also practices Chinese and Japanese calligraphy.
Igor graduated from the Geography Department of Moscow University and also studied at the Surikov Art Academy. Igor is a professional photographer and short film writer. He has his own modeling agency in Moscow. His models travel all over the world.
Elena and Igor travel extensively to different countries, which inspires them to create new works. Elena and Igor's works are in private collections in many countries: China, Japan, the USA, Russia, the Netherlands, Dubai, Poland, France, and Denmark.
Elena and Igor are pleased to present a collection of their latest works at the exhibition.
